LONDON & HYDERABAD: Both cities are having populations of more than one crore each. Hyderabad Metropolitan Region area is 7257 sq. kms and London Metropolitan Region area is 8382 sq. kms. Total Public Transport City Buses in Hyderabad are around 3500 only and whereas Public Transport City buses in London are 9300 buses. Metro & MMTS trains in Hyderabad are 190 services (57 133) and in London 543 train services. Dear politicians, dont you think that Hyderabad also needs at least 8100 Public Transport buses for providing smooth & safe journey to public. During peak time (i.e. 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening), anyone can easily understand how buses are overcrowded and people are hanging from buses unsafely. Many people are (being unable to travel in overcrowded buses) resorting to other modes of transport causing super congestion in the city. Now, with the implementation of free travel for women scheme, there is an urgent need for more buses. If govt cannot buy buses, they can go for HIRE with RTC buses. Politicians, why wait ! Jump into action please !!! Irrespective of implementation of free travel for women, every big city needs infusion of more number of City buses on war foot basis.
